update from camp kohlman

...last sunday, things have been mostly great. just tidying up the end of the snowboard season, shooting a few things here and there, etc. really mellow time of the year. july and august are usually basically a vacation. no real deadlines, just do whatever comes up. well, i was feeling a little shortchanged on my previous trip to switzerland so i planned on going to a camp there on the glacier at saas-fee.

scheduled to leave sunday night (the 3rd) and stay until the 20th or later. sunday afternoon i was riding my bike downtown to run a few errands and get some last minute supplies for the trip. it turns out that trying to tackle a midsize car such as the ford taurus at a medium speed from the seat of your bicycle is not a good idea. that'll get you a 3 day stay in the hospital, a fractured skull, a dislocated shoulder and a ruptured ear drum!! luckily, i lept up a little bit and my legs were totally spared, i just bounced off the hood/windshield.

trip: off.

Is this for real? Mark, I hope you are ok and wish you a speedy recovery.

I guess this should be a lesson learned about Tauruses (Taurii?): if you mess with the bull, you have to deal with the car horns... or something like that...
